Dear EMS Leader,
2024 was a strong year in which RVNU EMS collected over $18M for clients. We implemented 13 new deals across our different service offerings.
The momentum has continued into 2025, with $5M in insurance underpayments recovered in the last three months. These claims were written off and showing a $0 balance in the clients' systems. Now that's what we call FOUND MONEY!
On the underpayments side, in 2024, clients referred claims in various payer categories including commercial insurance, exchange products, auto/no-fault, workers comp, Medicare HMO, Medicaid HMO, Essential Plans, etc. The only payer categories we don't typically find underpayments on are straight Medicare and Medicaid. Last year we routinely collected claims as old as six years, and even more than six years in a handful of cases!
Going into 2025, we enhanced our benchmarking-qualification screening to ensure rapid turnarounds of 5-10 business days. The benchmarking screening is a process that allows us to review clients' data to find underpayments or other opportunities for found money. In 2025 we plan to continue to screen clients before engagement to ensure that it is a right-fit on both sides. We tend to think of it as a dating process that allows us to get to know the clients a bit, and them to know us, before we enter into any engagement.
The benchmarking process evolved in 2024 to be both quantitative and qualitative. RVNU EMS compares how an ambulance service's KPI's compare with other similar providers. Some of the KPI's include collections %, DSO, AR > 90, and many more. Additionally, RVNU EMS does a qualitative deep dive to understand areas in which the EMS provider may be "bleeding," and addresses the root cause.
One prospective client remarked recently that it was the perfect way for him to have his data externally validated. The particular prospect didn't sign with us in the end, but we both left the benchmarking screening process much more informed.
As we hit our stride this February, we are focused on perfecting our service offerings in day-one billing, underpayment recovery, insurance follow-up, facility collections, and patient pre-collections. We have clients in eight states across the US, and are adding new states regularly.
Interestingly, we are supporting billing services in addition to ambulance providers. Also, we are looking to support ambulance providers who are looking to grow their service line and take on third-party billing work.
Additionally, we are always open to acquiring good RCM/billing businesses whose owners are looking for someone to "take good care of their baby."

Lots more brewing, stay tuned!
Sincerely,
